Photovoltaic system
Our PV system can save about 12 tonnes of CO2 annually - the same effect as if we had planted 350 new trees.

The Bernese Oberland's natural environment should remain as pretty as it is for a very long time to come. Future generations should also be able to enjoy this majestic world. Like many others Credo wants to contribute and take responsibility by showing respect to nature and the Creator. In addition to ecological sustainability, we also want to pay attention to social and economic sustainability. That is really demanding. But we have set out on this path ...
Our electricity
Since 2021, a modern photovoltaic system with 30 KWp has been in operation on the roof of Credo. This supplies Credo with around 25% of its own clean electricity over the course of a year. When the sun is shining there is more than enough electricity for the kitchen at midday 😉 Credo can generate around 25 MWh of electricity itself per year.

Where does Credo do its shopping?
H&R Gastro, based in Interlaken, supplies us with almost all our daily necessities, including products from their own butcher's shop and coffee roastery. But also with many own brands. They are strong in the regional segment, including dairy products.
Fruit and vegetables are supplied to us by Gourmador Unterseen, which belongs to Fenaco. Michel Comestibles, where we usually source our fish, also belongs under the same roof. (The salmon comes from Norway, the catfish from Holland, the St. Peter's fish from New Zealand and the trout fillets from Italy).
Recently we have also started going down to the farm to get milk for our yogurt, dessert or butter plait. Incidentally, all the baked goods are from Credo or from Switzerland.
Switzerland and the Credo are a beautiful place on earth.
Like the preamble to our Federal Constitution, the Credo also refers to God. Our country is not exactly considered cheap. The shoppers in the Credo and many other people in our country feel the same way when shopping. How much should our food cost, what is organic, seasonal but also reasonable?
Beef, veal and pork are certainly from Switzerland and partly from the Bernese Oberland. In the case of chicken (where demand is growing but not supply), we are switching to Denmark and Slovenia for cost reasons. In the case of lamb, both the price and the salty sea air are decisive factors; it comes from Australia or New Zealand. The duck comes from France and the turkey breast from Hungary. Game meat comes from Austria or the Czech Republic.
The trace element iron, vitamin B12, high-quality protein and omega-3 fatty acids make healthy meat and fish consumption seem important if you don't want to take supplements.
