Tax exemption

The association Credo Schloss Unspunnen, Wilderswil

is exempt from cantonal and communal tax, direct federal tax and inheritance and gift tax on all children's and youth camps.

Important note:

Unfortunately, a tax exemption for Credo on the grounds that it is of public benefit was refused in due to legal decision. Our association only benefits from tax exemption because it pursues religious aims, and only in the area of camps for children and young people.

Can donors deduct their donations to Credo from their income tax? Unfortunately, this is no longer the case. Donations can only be deducted from income tax for institutions that are tax-exempt on the grounds of their public utility (and not on the grounds of the pursuit of religious aims). Nor can legal entities deduct their donations to Credo from their profits. This applies in all cantons of Switzerland.

We very much regret this and hope that many of our donors will continue to take Credo into account. Many thanks for all your generous and much appreciated donations over the last few years!

We would nevertheless ask you to indicate ‘children's camps’ on any future donations if they are earmarked for this purpose (so that donations are not attributed to the ‘hotel’ tax field).
